Murfreesboro Medical Clinic will anchor a new retail building at Fountains at Gateway

MMC Dermatology, Medical Spa, and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Departments to relocate and expand


March 8, 2018 – Murfreesboro Medical Clinic will be the anchor tenant of a new, 22,200-square-foot retail building which began construction last month at Fountains at Gateway, announced developer Scott Graby, president of Hearthstone Properties.


MMC has leased nearly 80 percent of the new building for its growing medical spa, dermatology and plastic surgery departments. The 17,565-square-foot lease includes 6,068 square feet on the first floor and 11,497 square feet on the second floor.


According to Joseph A. Peay, Chief Executive Officer of MMC, the three departments will relocate to Fountains in late 2018 or early 2019 from Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and Surgicenter on Garrison Drive, adjacent to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.


“We are so pleased to announce the upcoming relocation and expansion of our medical spa, dermatology and plastic surgery practice areas,” said Peay. “Led by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Albert Kattine and board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Brad Medling, the new facilities at Fountains at Gateway will provide ever higher levels of service and amenities to our patients in these departments.”


“The relocation will also accommodate the growth of other practice areas at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and Surgicenter, allowing us to serve more families,” Peay continued. “Adjacent to our medical campus, our new Fountains offices will be convenient for patients traveling between the two locations.”

Edible Arrangements leases space at Fountains at Gateway


January 29, 2018 ---Edible Arrangements® has leased a 1,310-square-foot retail space in the Fountains at Gateway office building, with plans to open in early February.


Edible Arrangements offers a wide selection of fruit bouquets, arrangements and chocolate covered fruit boxes for all occasions. In addition, the Fountains store will feature a new selection of fruit smoothies, frozen yogurt and small fruit selections in convenient grab-and-go sizes that can be enjoyed at their indoor or outdoor bistro tables, or taken off-site.

Organic, healthy food on the menu at Kitchen Fresh in Murfreesboro

January 17, 2018.  Healthy, organic food served up quick is what you'll get at Kitchen Fresh, a newly opened fast-casual restaurant in Fountains at Gateway in Murfreesboro.  The concept was designed by business partners Asmir Pervan and Brandon Whitsett, who both have a penchant for healthy eating and a desire to dine quickly.


Chef Kevin Edmondson, a former Atlanta restaurateur, worked closely with Whitsett and Pervan to develop a menu. Whitsett said Kitchen Fresh is truly "a first of its kind in Middle Tennessee."  Items are served in bowls. You can choose from a four-bowl, six-bowl or a veggie bowl that has four total items. The four-bowl lets you choose from two bases, one veggie and one protein. The six-bowl allows for two bases, two veggies and two proteins.


Once the weather warms, Kitchen Fresh will roll up its glass doors that open to a courtyard where there will be live music at various times throughout the summer.   Read more…


Winterfest at Fountains at Gateway Brings Outdoor Ice Skating and Events to Murfreesboro

November 6, 2017 ---  As the temperatures dip and the holiday season approaches, the first annual Winterfest at Fountains at Gateway will bring ice skating and holiday activities to Fountains Plaza, November 19 through January 6.


Featuring the first outdoor ice skating rink in Rutherford County, Winterfest will offer ice skating for all ages, themed skate nights, movie nights on the rink, Christmas caroling, and pictures with Santa. Lights and holiday decorations will adorn the central plaza to create a magical experience for all ages.

October 24, 2017 ---Name the fastest growing city in the state. Nashville may be the “It City,” but the census finds Murfreesboro equal if not greater in growth. The secret is out! Murfreesboro is on the rise.


What’s the next big thing in Murfreesboro? They call it the new urban landscape. The Fountains at Gateway is a 31-acre Class A multi-tenant office and retail development. Paul Lature, president of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce says the Fountains at Gateway is a blue chip investment. “Things are growing; our retail sector is absolutely exploding,” said Lature.


The fast-growing county is a magnet now for business large and small. That sells not just for visitors but the thousands of people who are moving here. “Last year alone we had about 2,300 new jobs for Rutherford County,” said Lature.  Everything about Murfreesboro and Rutherford County is about racing to keep up with the growth and nothing is slowing down. How fast is Rutherford County growing? There are just more than 300,000 people living there now and that is expected to nearly double in the next 10 to 15 years.


The Soda Bar and Homegrown Marketplace to open at Fountains in September


August 7, 2017 --- Two new retail concepts, The Soda Bar and Homegrown Marketplace, will open next month in a 2,524-square-foot space retail space in the Fountains at Gateway office building.

The Soda Bar is a dessert shop that will offer specialty ice creams, craft sodas, floats, Hawaiian shave ice, coffees, and signature take-out treats such as edible cookie doughs.


Homegrown Marketplace is a home décor and gift shop that will offer a wide range of décor and furniture for the home as well as stationery, gift items, and locally produced specialty food items. The new concept will be an opportunity for local and regional artists, artisans and craftsmen to showcase their goods.


The signature concepts were created by Hearthstone Properties to fill an important retail niche in the variety of restaurants, shops and services opening at Fountains.


Plans include an indoor-outdoor soda bar that opens onto Fountains Plaza and an outdoor kiosk that allows customers to order outside and receive a text when their orders are ready.  “The interior architecture and store operations are designed for customer enjoyment and convenience, allowing customers to stay engaged in the events and activities on the plaza,” said developer Scott Graby.  Read more…

e.Allen offers designer collections for women, luxury denim, fine boots and shoes, handcrafted jewelry and gifts.

Kitchen Fresh, a new fast-casual concept, leases space at Fountains at Gateway


April 11,  2017. Kitchen Fresh has leased a 1,897-square-foot retail space at Fountains at Gateway, the new Class A office and retail development in Murfreesboro, announced developer Scott Graby, president of Hearthstone Properties.


Kitchen Fresh is a new, fast-casual restaurant concept built around healthy, organic, chef-inspired food. All food is made from scratch and fresh-to-order.


Meals are served in bowls with ingredients selected by each customer and prepared by Kitchen Fresh staff. Small, regular, family and kid-size bowls are available for dine in or take out. Customers select from a complex carbohydrate base of rice, quinoa or noodles; a choice of vegetable and healthy protein; and one of the restaurant’s handcrafted sauces. Kitchen Fresh also serves cold-pressed juice as well as its own teas, lemonades, almond milk and almond-milk coffee hybrid drinks.

Anytime Fitness Leases Space at Fountains at Gateway


March 24, 2017.  Anytime Fitness has leased a 4,477-square-foot retail space on the ground floor of One Fountain Plaza, the recently completed office building at Fountains at Gateway.  Construction buildout is underway and Anytime Fitness is slated to open in May.


The 24-hour gym will feature a modern open design and private bathrooms with showers. Staffed by trained fitness consultants, Anytime Fitness offers individual and group fitness options, a range of cardio and strength equipment and hundreds of free classes. Members also have access to more than 3,300 gyms around the world.

Feb 16, 2017. – Nothing Bundt Cakes has leased a 1,803-square-foot retail space in an 11,200-square-foot retail building facing Medical Center Parkway, just inside the entrance to Fountains at Gateway.


The Murfreesboro bakery is slated to open this summer and will offer a wide range of cake flavors and sizes, according to franchisees Jeff and Lynne Warne, who also own Nothing Bundt Cake stories in Nashville and Franklin/Cool Springs.

Board & Brush provides do-it-yourself wooden sign workshops with more than 100 designs that customers can personalize to create one-of-a-kind décor and gifts. A flat fee is charged for all workshop projects, which includes everything needed to create a finished sign piece.

May 3, 2016.  Brixx Wood Fired Pizza has leased a 3,693 square-foot retail space on the ground floor of One Fountain Plaza, the 107,000-square-foot office building currently under construction at Fountains at Gateway, announced developer Scott Graby, president of Hearthstone Properties.


Best known for its wide variety of pizza, Brixx Wood Fired Pizza also offers an array of signature dishes, from sandwiches and salads to pasta to desserts, using locally grown ingredients when possible. Brixx is a full-service restaurant with a broad selection of craft beers and microbrews, wines and cocktails.


The Fountains at Gateway location is slated to open this fall and will be the third Nashville-area restaurant for Brixx Wood Fired Pizza, according to restaurant veteran Marc Hanmer of JAM Restaurants, the Brixx franchisee for Middle Tennessee. Fountains at Gateway seeks to be ‘destination’

April 28, 2016.  There's a movement building in Murfreesboro of people wanting more for the city than just to be Nashville's little sister to the south. Developer Scot Graby wants his new development, Fountains at Gateway, to be the destination that raises Murfreesboro's profile. "I've visited 15 to 20 developments to get the best ideas," Graby said during a meeting outlining his dreams for the future.


The health-conscious development will feature rentable bicycles and connectivity to Murfreesboro's Greenway system. Plus, keycard-protected showers and a bike room for workers "in case you want to bike to work," he said. "We are trying to be as collaborative as we can be," Graby said. The entire development will be centered on pocket parks, fountains, stages for live music and an ice rink in the winter. Tom+Chee Leases Space at Fountains at Gateway

(March 23, 2016)  Tom+Chee has leased a 2,300 square-foot retail space in the new Fountains at Gateway Class A office and retail development, announced developer Scott Graby, president of Hearthstone Properties. The popular grilled cheese and tomato soup restaurant will be located in an 11,000 square-foot retail building facing Medical Center Parkway, just inside the entrance to the Fountains development.


One of the Nashville area’s newest fast-casual concepts, Tom+Chee opened its first restaurant in the Nashville West shopping center on Charlotte Pike, last August.  According to Nashville businessmen Sam and Ray Patel, who own the Middle Tennessee franchise for Tom+Chee, the new Fountains at Gateway location will be the group’s second store to open in the Nashville area.

Feb 11, 2016.  JoZoara Coffee Shop will leave its long-time location on Thompson Lane for 1,600 square feet of leased retail space on the ground floor of One Fountain Plaza, owners Dan and Jane Ogg said. JoZoara will be the first retail tenant to open in the new 31- acre, Class A office and retail development when One Fountain Plaza is completed this spring, said Fountains at Gateway developer Scott Graby, president of Hearthstone Properties. One Fountain Plaza, a 100,000-square-foot office building, is currently under construction.
